For clarification:

As the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in a School or College you must undertake the following training:

  • Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) Education compliant training (this training is suitable for those new to the role of DSL and for those who need a refresher) this training must be updated by the individual DSL every 2 years.

and in addition;

  • ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ Level 2 (Level 2 is equivalent to Intercollegiate Safeguarding Training Level 3)

The DSL has to undertake this every 2 years in order to be fully compliant with the DSL contribution to inter-agency working (Keeping Children Safe in Education - DfE)
